José Andrés: Farm Bill, SNAP Critical to Fighting Hunger

by

The most important part of the Farm Bill for me is how children and families will feed themselves.

It’s critical to defend and maintain SNAP to support families – not because they need our pity, but because we must give them respect. Maybe someday we’ll no longer need SNAP, if we’re able to lift people out of poverty and even end hunger.

If we invest in our children at a young age – with other USDA programs like Farm to School and National School Lunch – we can encourage them to be strong and engaged citizens. Now this would be a brighter future!
