Food retailers take particular care in supporting policies that expand access to safe and healthy food in all communities, and they play a critical role in the shopping experience of customers enrolled in food assistance programs such as SNAP.
An efficient system for processing SNAP transactions, with very low costs and fraud, exists today. We hope Congress will enhance these efficiencies, accounting for payment technology shifts and preserving the nationwide interoperable system.
