A former agriculture secretary once said, “Everyone of us who is not a farmer is not a farmer because we have farmers. We delegate the responsibility of feeding our families to a relatively small percentage of this country.”
I am grateful for the generations of men and women who work to ensure that we have an abundant and affordable food and fiber supply. They are a strength of our economy, a critical component of our national security and the pride of our nation.
